Just Shut Up Already

I mean this sincerely. Just shut the hell up. Give it a rest already. We are the United States of America, the greatest, most prosperous, freest, strongest nation in the history of the planet, and all we seem to do is whine. Knock it off.

Whining is the new bipartisan common ground. Hillary Clinton whines that she’s the victim of sexism, Donald Trump whines that he’s the victim of bad polling. No one who doesn’t already care intently cares at all.

That’s what it’s really about. Whining isn’t to change minds or draw in new support or sympathy; it’s to maintain and distract.

Donald Trump doesn’t want his supporters to recognize he’s been dining out on polls for months and is now losing in some. His poll inevitability was the only thing that made him inevitable. So now polls are wrong and unfair.

Meanwhile, when he’s not embracing liberal policies on the campaign trail, he’s still spewing platitudes. He’s displayed the depth of a mud puddle in August heat, and his support is drying up. If he’d stop whining and start working, he’d be a much better candidate.

Hillary Clinton is a different story. She’s not fighting to stop a slide; she’s going in for the kill. After having lied her way through a debate and congressional testimony, the media has declared her as having the best week since the invention of the Julian calendar. Still, she whines about being the victim of sexism.

Hillary is more than 40 points ahead of Bernie Sanders in Iowa, yet she whined about how she’s been accused of “yelling” about guns because some people (READ: Bernie Sanders) only hear yelling when a woman speaks.

Forget the fact that Sanders, whatever you think of his politics, has actually done more for civil and equal rights than Hillary ever could even pretend to have done, and realize finding video of Hillary yelling about guns (go to the 1:00 mark) is easier to find than Barack Obama was on the night of the Benghazi attack.

Still, she’s the victim.

That’s the real problem: We’ve elevated victimhood even though it’s not something to aspire to. It doesn’t matter how you get there, just get there.

Case in point: the unnamed little brat in South Carolina the media has adopted as the latest victim mascot. A story unworthy of discussion outside the school’s rumor mill has achieved national prominence because the media is awful.

No one was hurt, aside form a snot’s pride, but you’d think this girl had been drawn and quartered. Baltimore saw its 278th murder this week, the vast majority of which were black, but this girl is more important and worthy of valuable minutes of news coverage.

I don’t know exactly what happened, but I honestly don’t care. I’m so sick of watching the media elevate losers to hero status, to victim status, simply because there’s money to be made.

This kid, who by all accounts was disruptive, annoying, and refused to leave when ordered, is now a progressive hero who immediately made Hillary’s short-list for VP and a primetime convention speaking slot. Any sane person with parents who raised them right would view her reported actions as those of someone in need of a swift kick in the ass. Democrats view her as someone in need of a financial settlement larger than her personality would allow her to earn in her lifetime.

To say our priorities as a society are screwed up is like saying Michael Moore gets a little flirty with high-fat foods.

What is wrong with the media that ignored the trial of serial killer Kermit Gosnell for as long as possible because it was a “local crime story,” yet gleefully rapes a 15-second video of a petulant child getting discipline for probably the first time in her life? There is no redemption for that.

I don’t know how these people sleep at night in the knowledge they’re a vile form of societal parasite desperate to destroy its host. I would attempt to appeal to their humanity, but progressives have none.

I know that’s “harsh” and “mean.” But I don’t really give a damn. I’ll care when these freedom-eating soul suckers stop trying to ban things like the phrase “hard worker” because their hypersensitivity meter broke when they were dropped on their head at birth. Until then, and I mean this with all sincerity, just shut up already.
