A
college professor, expounding on some amorphous point about attention, told his classroom that for the next five minutes, they were NOT to think about pandas. Whatever else you do, you are not to think about pandas. The crux of the assignment was to illustrate that nobody would be able to think of anything other than pandas. (Note: you can substitute “Waterloo” by ABBA in place of pandas). This is precisely the modus operandi of the
mainstream media in their quest to dispose of Alaska Govenor Sarah Palin. Theoretically, the liberals got what they wanted when Palin announced her resignation from the governorship of Alaska. Rather than sigh and wish her Godspeed and good riddance, the mainstream savants couldn’t stop obsessing about Palin. The ever-perceptive author, Ann Coulter likens the fourth estate’s interminable Palin calumny to the guy who just can’t stop talking about his ex. Thank God and Greyhound she’s gone, and by the way did I tell you about the time she . . .It’s a matter that could be summarily resolved by producing an authentic
birth certificate. But Team O reckons that answering to a ceaseless slew of lawsuits is the more judicious scheme. Suspicions about Obama’s identity are mounting as his anti-Americanism is exposed. The mainstream media is now frantically advancing the birth certificate debate. It is to be anticipated that Chris Matthews and the rest of his species will brand anyone who challenges Obama’s citizenship as a furibundal birther. The same notable lexicon of invectives once fired at Palin will now be aimed at the questioners.
Try that at the DMV when they ask for a birth certificate: What are you, some kind of crazy birther? I TOLD you I was born in California!
Tingly Chris Matthews is not the only pundit chattering about Obama’s
citizenship. NBC anchor Brian Williams dedicated part of his broadcast to
chiding the birthers. Lou Dobbs at CNN has been challenging the president to
produce his birth certificate. The story has
gotten too conspicuous to dismiss, so the mainstream
press is going to manage it the same way they deal with Palin.
They won’t shut up about it.
For months, thousands of patriotic citizens pursued the birth certificate issue and the mainstream media overlooked it. Representative John Campbell (R-CA) co-sponsored a bill that would require future presidents to provide a copy of their birth certificates, which has liberals howling. Unless the bill would be limited to republican candidates only, it would be an affront to be required to flash a birth certificate just to be leader of the free world. To enroll your child in kindergarten, sure. But is it really necessary to know everything about the guy with the nuke codes?
Since the mainstream press is going to
make a big deal about the birth certificate,
perhaps this is a good time to compel the liberation of a few other items of
interest. Jim Meyers at Newsmax put together a handy list:
Among the key documents that Obama continues to shield from the public:
During the presidential campaign, McCain’s campaign released a full list of all online donors. Obama’s campaign still has not released the names of those who donated at least one-third of the $750 million he raised.
The mainstream media will keep brandishing the specious Certificate of Live birth around as if anyone over the age of twelve would accept it as dispositive of the issue. They screech about the batty birthers and cite Annenberg’s Fact Check as controlling authority. That would be the same Annenberg of Bill Ayers acclaim
Matthews, showing noticeable symptoms of depression, is now alleging that the birth certificate issue isn’t a birth certificate issue; it’s a “pigmentation” issue.
The one thing the mainstream media will not do in their crusade to make the citizenship inquiry vanish is to shut up about it.
